BRIEF

Created by SUMO project  as a result from the MENTORPODS initiative,  the SUMO Hitchhiker's Guide to Public Art (for beginners) was conceived as a diagram structured around three interconnected parts—the main path, additional information, and practical advice—allowing artists to orient themselves while accessing deeper layers of knowledge as needed. It might look complicated, but it isn’t.

Conceived as a large, simplified diagram, the guide is structured around three interconnected parts—the main path, additional information, and practical advice—allowing artists to orient themselves quickly while accessing deeper layers of knowledge as needed.

Its intention is to support novice artists in navigating the system more confidently and strategically.:

  • nurturing learning and continuous improvement among novice public artists.

  • strengthening organizational capacity and development, including the ability to share knowledge clearly, build internal tools, and support long-term professional growth through accessible, scalable resources.
